John P. Kelley
(1941-2011)
John was a founding partner of the firm. He died of lymphoma on September 24, 2011. John practiced estate planning for over thirty five years, and he loved his job. He will be deeply missed. John’s legacy at Kelley & Farren lives on, in part through his wife, Elizabeth Arnold, and his son, Colin Kelley, who are both attorneys at Kelley & Farren.

Carolyn M. Farren
Carolyn is a partner in the firm. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UC Berkeley (1966) and a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (1969). Ms. Farren is a Certified Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning, and Trust Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and has authored numerous books in the field. She has served on the Board of Directors and advisory boards to Hospice of Marin and Audubon Canyon Ranch for many years.

Elizabeth R. Arnold
Elizabeth is an associate in the firm. She has a BA from Smith College (1965),
a Master of Arts from Middlebury College (1966) and a law degree from the University
of California Boalt Hall School of Law (1975). Ms. Arnold has practiced law
in Alaska and in California and has concentrated in Estate Planning since 1992.
She is also fluent in Spanish.

Jane Grant Kerr
Jane is an associate in the firm. She has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania (1970) and a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (1974). Ms. Kerr has concentrated in Estate Planning since 1992. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in both the public and private sectors of the law, including Contra Costa Legal Services Foundation.

Christine E. Hoburg
Christine is an associate in the firm. She has a B.S. in Business Administration from Sonoma State University (2000) and a law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (2003), with a Tax Concentration. She was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant by the California Board of Accountancy in 2005. Prior to joining Kelley & Farren in 2005, Ms. Hoburg worked for Deloitte Tax, LLP, preparing corporate, partnership, trust, individual, estate and gift tax returns.

Lisa Fialco
Lisa is an associate in the firm. She has a B.A. from Wesleyan University (1993) and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law (2000). Prior to joining Kelley & Farren in 2010, Ms. Fialco litigated consumer protection and other matters both for the Federal Trade Commission and in the private sector.

Colin E. Kelley
Colin is an associate in the firm. He has a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego (2001) and a
law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law (2006). Prior to joining
Kelley & Farren in 2011, Mr. Kelley worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Walter L. Carpeneti of the
Alaska Supreme Court and practiced litigation at a prominent national law firm, focusing on securities
and complex commercial litigation. He is also fluent in Spanish.

Support Staff
