LEGAL UPDATE

On January 2, 2013, President Obama signed legislation establishing new federal estate tax, gift tax, and generation skipping transfer (GST) tax exemption amounts and setting new estate and gift tax rates.  For 2013, estate, gift, and GST exemption amounts are $5,250,000 per person (the exemption amounts will be adjusted for inflation each year).  Please check our legal update section for more detailed information about the new tax rules.

We recommend you consult us if you have any questions on the application of current estate tax laws to your own estate plan.
